Eric Rothman has had a microphone in his hand for as long as he can remember. From anchoring his middle schools closed-circuit television station as an 8th grader, to calling games on national television as a professional, Rothman has experienced a lot.
Since 2011, Rothman has served as the play-by-play voice of the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League. Since 2013, those games have aired live regionally on Time Warner Cable SportsNet. Select games have also been picked up for simulcast and appeared on Comcast SportsNet, MSG Network, and NBATV. Along with broadcasting games for the D-Fenders, Rothman has also called NBADL games since 2012 for NBATV as play-by-play broadcaster of the NBADL Showcase, an annual event displaying some of the best up and coming basketball talent in the world.
Rothman has been on the call for many amateur athletic events as well. He has called basketball, soccer, and volleyball games for the West Coast Conference, basketball for Fox Sports West PrepZone, and football for NFHS and the CIF. A native of Cincinnati, Rothman currently resides in Los Angeles and is a graduate of Syracuse University.
